These days no one compromises with his security. Keeping in mind this fact, Armet Armored Vehicles Inc. of King City has launched Gurkha, an armor vehicle costing $200,000 (U.S.) that can protect you from bullet fired from AK-47 and detect a roadside bomb. The demand for this chick-car is on boom because of terrorist-attacks.
The owner of Armet Armored Vehicles Inc. William Whyte says:
They are pretty awesome machines. We’ve been stopped on roads with people taking pictures and wanting to know what they are. And the stakes keep getting higher, so you have to keep one step ahead. The Gurkha has an average speed of around 150 km/h weighing 8,620 kilogram enclosed with testosterone and armour plating. The first 40 have been delivered to Canadian and the American Army. And the very first celebrity to afford this car is Californian governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Also Inkas factory in Toronto is introducing it’s Chevrolet Suburban with bulletproof glass and flat tires, costing $85,000 (U.S).
The Gurkha can be transported overseas as a built anywhere kit, existing chassis and engines from other manufacturers provides a flexibility to assemble it anywhere. In 2004, Ford Motor Co. introduced a armored version of its Lincoln Town Car, available in Canada but only by special order.
It was almost similar to that of traditional Town Car but it was equipped with high-impact ceramics and glass, aramid fiber and a modified fuel tank, but ceased it’s production in 2005.

No doubt it better than a Hummer! But wait, the Hummer wasn’t intented to be a front line vehicle anyway. Its recently been adapted with armor. But, from what I’ve seen so far the Burkha was intended to be a lot closer to the front than the Hummer.
If money was not an issue, the Gurkha would be my choice.
Dave, The HMMWV (High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle) was designed to perform a multitude of jobs, as the name suggests. Your claim about the HMMWV not being a ”front line” vehicle is unfounded. They were, from day 1 built with intentions to be used as patrol vehicles, armament carriers, ambulances etc. anywhere and everywhere especially on the ”front line”. Furthermore if cost was an issue and it IS, the Gurkha would be a wise choice because it costs LESS than a HMMWV of its caliber.
