To find out guerrilla warriors has been pretty tuff job for soldiers in the battlefield. However, Air Force does not think so. They are trying to find the way out for this complexity.
A prototype of robotic Frisbees, heavily loaded with ammunitions following Triton Systems, has been designed to overcome the barrier. “The 3-D maneuverability of the Frisbee-UAV [unmanned aerial vehicle] will provide revolutionary tactical access and lethality against hostiles hiding in upper story locations and/or defiladed behind obstacles,” the company says. The remote controlled circular discs will be fired with help of shotgun target launcher (skeet) to trace out guerrillas and then gun down the target with armor-piercing explosives.
From 1992 to 1998, the Navy practiced with a set of unmanned, 250-pound, six-foot-diameter flying saucers. Similarly, in 2002, Norweigan researchers introduced a circular flying robot.
The Frisbee disc has set a good show during practice session and question is that how effectively will it perform in the combat zone!
