Lockheed Martin received the $10 million contract for the development of the new next-generation hull material for DARPA’s Integrated Sensor Is Structure (ISIS) program. The fabric requires significant development of the materials over the existing ones being used in the state-of-the-art hull materials.
Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) will develop the airship and all the technologies needed for it to operate 70,000 feet above the ground.
The air ship will be like a real time friends for the troops on the ground giving the big picture map showing the movements of everything whether enemy or friends for hundreds of kilometers. The tracking data will be so good that they will not require the need of radars to track enemy things.
This stationary ship will also be capable of showing slow moving ground troops and at that height above the ground can persistently track targets.
