While Saddam Hussein is busy playing a different game in the precincts of courts, let us dissect his golden AK-47, somehow dug out by the U.S. Army, most probably at the Heathrow Airport. One of his sons presented this gold plated automatic Kalashnikov to the former President.
As you can read the inscription in Arabic on the rifle - “Gift to Mr. President Saddam Hussein, President of the Republic of Iraq”.

thats not an ak-47, Kalashnikov that gun is a completely different model.
Wait A Kalishnikov, or Dragunov?
yes...its an ak-47...its an ak-47s...if u look at the back where u usually put on ur soldier thingy...its not the same...thats the ak-47s...and yes its a dragunov 2...
First one is AKS, second - Dragunov
First one is AKS, second - Dragunov
The first is a Ak-74...
The second is a Dragunov without the scope...
Wow, that is impressive.
Amazing, how much is the price for the golden gun?
This is a toy, not a weapon... No one will use this at the war... It’s too expensive.
Do you know where the best ak-47 are producting?
RUSSIA man. im sure
That first on IS an AK-47, and is clearly not an AK-74 or any variant of the AK-74. Anyone who knows anything about Kalashnikovs can tell by the magazine. Just because 50 video games featured the stubbed flip-stock AK-74 varient (AKS-74u) does not mean that every stubbed AK with a flip stock you see is an AK-74!
As for the second rifle, it’s difficult to tell, it is Duragonov modeled, but there are many variants that look almost identical. My guess by the Magazine side that it is an extended AK-47 (7.62) or AK-74 (5.54) variant considering the Duraganov round is very long.
Point is, first weapon is an AK-47, end of story.
Dragunov made in Irak: Al-Kadisa
the one that the man is holding is a dragonov no scope
the one that the man is holding is a dragonov no scope
I dont know if its an ak47 but is made of gold.... thats the important about it
Beautiful weapon!
wow the gold color was very cool. The Glitter show us this weapon is very expensive
nice weapon
first of all the first one is an AK-74U
NOT AN AK-47 and the second one is a Dragonov
Andrew Petovar, you’re completely wrong on both statements.
The first is *not* an AK-74 of any kind, because the magazine is clearly for 7.62×39mm rounds (the AK-74 chambers 5.45×39mm rounds, and uses magazine that are much less curved). The first rifle is an AK-47, with a short barrel and an underfolding stock.
The second rifle is *not* a Dragunov, it is (as mentioned above) an Al-Kadeish. The most obvious tip-off is that there’s a palm tree stamped on the magazine. (Why would the russians stamp a palm tree on their magazines? They wouldn’t.) The Al-Kadeish is/was produced in Iraq.
Actually, the first one is an AKS-74. It’s basically an AK-47 with a folding stock. This one looks a bit modified, though. And you’re right, the gun in the 3rd picture is, indeed, a Dragunov. I wonder if he got one of those too? =P
The first one is much too customized to definitively state wether its an AK-47 or an AKS-74 - it definitively is NOT AKS-74u nor AK-74u thought - it clearly has the magazine of an AK-47 but almost everything else (the barrel, the body and the underfolding stock) are from an AKS-74...
The second one is an Al-Kadesh, as czech and L.A. Woman stated, and it is NOT a Dragunov made in Irak, I wouldnt say it even roughly ressembles a Dragunov, its a completely diferent weapon...
As for those with doubts about the word ”Kalashnikov”, EVERY AK-something that ever existed is a Kalashnikov, thought im not quite sure if its part of the name of the gun or the russians call them like that because some meaning of that word, but theyre all Kalashnikovs.
Oh and also...
Why hast anyone ever made a Gold plated Barret M107?? now that would be awesome *¬* (not saying these arent cool)
The first weapon is actually not an AK-47 nor is it an AK-74. It is in fact an AKM (actual variant is ’AKMS’), which is a modification of the AK-74 that came about around 1959.
The identifying features: The AKM has a dimple on the receiver housing just above the magazine, the AK-74 has does not have this feature. Next, the magazine; The AK-47 has a flat sided magazine while the AKM has the ribbed type that is in the picture. The AK-74 does have the same dimple as an AKM, but has a flat sided plastic magazine. Further, the AKS-74’s stock is a triangular frame type that folds to one side, while the one pictured has the type stock that folds underneath.
The name Kalashnikov comes from the head of the design bureau involved in its manufacture, Mikhail Timofeyevich Kalashnikov. The ’AK’ itself stands for ’Avtomat Kalashnikova’, meaning ’automatic rifle Kalashnikov’. The ’M’ part means ’Modernizirovanniy’ or ’modernized’. And the ’S’ means ’Skladnoy’ meaning ’folding’. The folding stock and stubby barrel indicate that this weapon is intended for paratroopers.

Oops! My first sentence should read: The first weapon is actually not an AK-47 nor is it an AK-47. It is in fact an AKM (actual variant is ’AKMS’), which is a modification of the AK-74 that came about around 1959.
plus one barrel is bigger than the other and i agree the lats picture looks defately like a draganov but there are both pretty bad ass cuz they are both gold plated
You guys, why don’t you read a little. The truth is you will never know the diference between AK-47 and AK-74 untill you hold it your hands. The AK-74 is shorter and ligther, THATS THE ONLY DIFERENCE YOU WILL NOTICE WHEN YOU LOOK AT IT. The are name diferent because AK-47 was made on 1947 and ak-74 was made on 1974. So stop bullsh**ing. Now I want to say this. Mihail Timofeyevich ”Kaláshnikov”, was the soldier that designed the AK and all of it’s initial variants. That why all AK’s are called, ”Kalasnikov”, even Dragunovs are called this way, and yes it is a Dragunov.
OK, man, this is where you REALLY need to make sure you know what you’re talking about. There are multiple differences between the AK-47 and the AK-74 that don’t take a lot of attention to notice. Most obvious are the flash suppressor/climb compensators. The 74’s suppressor is totally different from the AK or the AKM. The 74 also features a side folding stock on the non fixed stock models. None of them underfold like the one above. The one above is most likely what is called a Tabuk, the Iraqi produced AK-47 in 7.62X39.
Now, on to the ”Dragunov”. This is NOT a true Dragunov. It is, as multiple people above stated, most likely an Al-Kadeish, an Iraqi produced copy of a Romanian FPK Marksman’s rifle, which on the surface resembles the SVD (Dragunov) but is actually an AK actioned rifle with a long barrel chambered in the 7.62X54mm round used by the SVD and older Mosin-Nagant bolt action rifles. I owned one of the Romanian guns for a while. Sorry to out you, but you shouldn’t dog on other people’s posts unless you REALLY have your facts straight. Take it easy, man!
okay you guys seem to be getting a common misconception. The AK-74 does not only appear in the world in its ”U” or shortened variant. the AKSU-74 is one of the rarer weapons in the AK category. The Russian Army is currently equipped with the AK-74 rifle which is slightly longer than the previous AKM or AK-47.
@ the post from October 23 2009, the AK-74 is chambered for 5.45 x 39, and the AKM/47 is chambered for 7.62 x 39 M1943 ammunition. Big difference there.
You dont notice much difference when you hold them....an AK is an AK. Its the technical details, build materials, frame contours and cartridge that all differ here. Just because you played call of duty 4 a few times and jerked off while reading the AK’s wikipedia page doesnt make you a gun expert. Maybe you should read a little more carefully.
Story behind this AK 47 IS that it was gifted by KING of Saudi Arabia to Saddam Hussein when they met it came in a case which had bullets of gold as well u can check on youtube it will show saddam with saudi royal family holding this gun .
busana muslim, nice weapon
Wow thats impresive u guys know how calls the damn guns cool....

Just a damn gun like u see, just golden. So what???
First one is Ak 47 and second is Gun from world war two Russian i gues not any Ak 47... Well if i would had those guns i would buy Golden Desert eagle...
THEY ARE BOTH SPRAY PAINTED AIRSOFT GUNS AND THAT GUY IS NOT EVEN REALLY MILITARY!!!!!!!!!
that’s not even a real gun it’s ust a pellet gun spray-painted gold if u want to see a reall many gun go look up the mini-gun.
first one AKS ( Avtomat Kalashnikova skladnoi) second dragunov
first one AKS ( Avtomat Kalashnikova skladnoi) second dragunov
The images above show both an AKM and the Iraqi Tabuk Sniper.
The AKM is a 7.62mm assault rifle that is essentially an upgraded version of the AK-47. It was eventually replaced by the AK-74.
The Tabuk Sniper Rifle is an Iraqi modification of a Russian designated marksman’s rifle, made from a modified version of the RPK light machine gun.
The first rifle is an AKMS, 7.62×39. The second rifle is not an AK47, and it is not a Dragunov. It is a PSL, which is widely used as a sniper rifle in that region. It chambers a 7.62×54 rimmed cartridge, same as the Dragunov. But it is actually a Kalashnikov action, with a longer gas piston, giving it more recoil than it’s Soviet counterpart. As to where they were manufactured. It could have been anywhere. The stamping/engraving was done after the electroplating. If I had to guess, I would say they are ROMAK (Romanian) versions.
Ok. Lemme get things straight. I know guns. k? The first one IS a golden AK-47. I am definily sure of it. 100% AK-47, not AK-74. The second gun IS a Dragonuv, not a PSL or a Kalashnikov. K? No more arguing. It’s not a PSL, Kalashnikov, or an extended AK-47. Just a golden Dragonuv. Go to google images and look up Dragonuv. You will find that the body of it is exactly the same as a dragonuv. Look at the including image for proof.
You are so ignorant!
Have you even read through the posts above?
The 1st one would be an AK47 VARIANT!
It has extremely curved magazine.
A Standard AK47 would have a longer barrel and a full stock. This would be the same as different between an M16a3 and an M4a1.
The second is not a SVD. It is Al Kadesih, as stated above.
An SVD (or Dragunov, which name came from one of the inventors of the rifle.)is is made by Izhevsk Mechanical Works, or an other company who was give permission to reproduce the SVD.
So please stick to something you know, like call of duty.
@ Jordan Seymour
Kid, you really need to shut up now before a few more less controlled gun guru’s tear you apart.
You need to get your spelling straight if you are gonna argue anything. Im not listening to or respecting anyone who cant spell ”Dragunov”.
If you were a gun enthusiast, you’d notice that the top weapon is not an AK-47. The reciever indicates an AKM or AKM clone. Given the region it could be of local manufacture or imported from any of several eastern bloc countries that were really into making messed-up looking guns.
I recommend you study up and quit trying to sound like an expert on anything.
Wow, nice weapon
