US Military’s AEHF or Advanced Extremely High Frequency Milstar III satellites will provide a support to twice the capacity and 6 times higher data transfer than that of the current Milstar II satellites. These satellites will form the secure backbone of the Pentagon’s intermediate term Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) architecture. This process will continue until the larger capacity Transformational Communications Satellite System enters service and replaces them. This program will cover cost overruns and schedule slips.
