Here is the list of the top ten futuristic weapons that can disable any force of the world.

- Autonomous Weapons

These are the robotic weapons that are currently in the development phase. They work on a find and destroy criteria. These Automatic Robotic vehicles can strike in air or on the ground without causing any damage to the friendly troops. These are equipped with sensors that can sense between enemy and the friendly troops and ask for a conformation from the ground forces to begin an attack. The limitation of this type of robotic vehicles is that it would be difficult to distinguish between animals, civilians friendly forces and enemy forces. And if anything goes wrong then the weapons could start wild firing injuring many innocent.

- High Energy Lasers

High Energy lasers travel at the speed of light and can destroy an approaching missile in minutes and can also strike targets over thousands of kilometers. The Lasers use large mirror to focus on the weak spots of the missiles that usually is the fuel compartment. This high energy laser then heats up the missile which destroys it in mid air and hundreds of kilometers from the target. The only limitation of the weapon is that it is very bulky and cannot be used in all environments.

- Space-Based Weapons

Nothing is above space. A weapon in orbit will be able to see and destroy anything on the planet. The main mission of these weapons will to seek and destroy any approaching ballistic missile in mid air. The reaction time of the weapon should be very fast so that it can even hit a supersonic craft before it reaches its target.

- Hypersonic Aircrafts (Scram Jet)

These are the aircrafts that can fly at a speed of Mach 5 that means five times the speed of sound. These aircrafts can reach any target on the planet within two hours. The aircrafts initially have to take a ride on the back of some other planes, which can carry it to an altitude where the air density is less. Then the aircraft shifts to the scramjet engine that uses the mixture of air and fuel to power the aircraft to supersonic speed. The limitation for the aircraft is that the scramjet engine cannot start until the plane is flies faster than the speed of sound and moreover the plane has not yet undergone a human testing.

- Active Denial System (Millimeter-Wave Weapon)

The active denial systems have been designed to make people flee without injuring them. A 2-meter long antenna and a generator produces and aims a 95 GHz wave on a group of people which causes them intense pain in the skin making them to flee. The problem with the system is that it can cause serious burns to the people who will not be able to run quickly as the wave can burn the skin in minutes.

- Nuclear Missiles

Nuclear Missiles are the most destructive weapons that have been made by man. They are capable of destroying a whole nation at the first strike and the after effects are also devastating. The nuclear missiles are based on a ballistic missile with a nuclear warhead that explodes. The missiles have not been used by any nation as yet. The launch site and the trajectory of the missile is easy to identify so it can easily be destroyed in flight.

- Stun Guns (Tasers)

Tasers use high voltage electricity to subdue people without any permanent injury. These are targeted on the bodies or on the legs of people and they disrupt the normal functioning of the voluntary muscles of humans making them to fall on the ground. The practical limitations of the Stun Guns are many as they can cause injury when a person falls on the ground, and many deaths have already been reported.

- High-Power Microwave Bombs (e-bombs)

These are known as e-bombs because they can totally damage computers, electronics and electric power. The technology uses high power microwave pulses that can burn the electrical equipment and particularly the semiconductor chips. The limitation is that they also damage the friendly equipment within range.


- Layered Missile Defense

This technology offers the best chance to shoot a missile before it reaches its target. Multiple systems are targeted on to the missile during different stages of its flight. The first is the boost phase during which the rockets are firing. During this stage the missile is easy to detect and easy to shoot down. The second stage is the mid stage of the missiles flight while the war head is in space. The last phase is when the warhead is approaching the target. The limitation is that the system is difficult to make and maintain and also it requires very fast response time.

- Information Warfare

The technology interferes with the flow of information in the enemy channels totally disrupting it. Specially trained computer hackers are used to break into the military computers and steal the information and also destroy it by spreading some viruses. The limitation is that till now only the U.S is relying on the computers so other low-tech enemies are not so vulnerable against the weapon.

The Mil-24 is a large combat helicopter gunship and low-capacity troop transport helicopter that took more than 15 year to complete. Fully scratch built, this model was extremely difficult to build due to lack of information on it.

The helicopter has many authentic features including: linked controls (pedals that work in parallel motion), a battery powered motor that spins the main and tail rotor in the actual ratio of the original, adjustable tail rotor pitch, fabric covered stabilizer, landing gear with pneumatic rubber tires, compressable shocks, working lights, locks ,fans, aim able guns and titanium engine parts.

The helicopter is just perfect for wars and has a long combat history related to it. The probability of wining a war depend upon the weapons you use and this can be a war winning weapon.

The U.S. Air Force completed the inaugural flight of F-35 Lightning II, Joint Strike Fighter (JSF), successfully at Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, Texas, which they considered the most comprehensive flight test program in the history of military aviation. The flight continued about 35 minutes and the F-35 was flanked by two F 16s and an F/A-18 as follow aircrafts.

The sneaky F-35 Lightning II basically is a supersonic, multi-role, 5TH Generation fighter intended to replace the F-16, F/A-18 Hornet, the Harrier and the A-10 aircrafts. The F-35 includes Pratt & Whitney F135 engine that easily may be reckoned as the most powerful engine ever used in a fighter aircraft.

Apart from United States eight other countries, including United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, Turkey, Canada, Australia, Denmark and Norway are the joint partners involved in the financial support and expansion of the F-35 and they have plans to produce about 4,500 aircrafts that may exceed even further on demand.

Currently three other versions, a conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) alternative for conventional runways, a short takeoff/vertical landing (STOVL) option for operating off small ships and near front-line combat zones, and a carrier variant (CV) for fling launches, of the F-35 are under development process as well.

Sharks have always been the centre of attraction, not only for biological analysts but also for researchers who were looking forward to turn these ‘household’ sharks into ‘remote controlled spy’. Sharks can swim long distances and the only thing that inspires them is food; the biggest challenge in front of the researchers was to make these sharks move in the desired direction. Darpa-funded scientist has succeeded to do so, targeting their nose through electrical stimulation of the brain to produce little odor pulses of squid juice that inspires the sharks to move in a particular direction.

The military has classified the research and is now looking forward to install little lasers to their heads, which will help them monitor strategic area of interests. The research can further be useful in potential civilian applications like tracking fish populations, changes in ocean temperatures, or chemical spills.

Dr Andy Harvey, a senior lecturer in electrical engineering at Heriot-Watt University has created a video camera styled device that can detect 30 times more colors than a human eye. This device boast of the only technology of its kind as the invention is the first moving camera to allow such sophisticated color differentiation.

The army is testing this device to be used as a device to detect land mines. The device can differentiate between world’s best camouflage and real foliage.

The image replicating imaging spectrometer technology has been developed at Heriot-Watt University over the past four years and has received up to £800,000 in funding from sources including the Department for Trade and Industry and QinetiQ, the defence and security specialist, which was once part of the MoD.

The device is currently only a research toll and is set to go under clinical trials. If the device displays good results, it may find great use in applications related to vision and detection of a cancer at early stage.

With increasing terrorist activities and confrontational situation between different nations, air surveillance has become one of the most important aspects for defense forces and security agencies. To guard their borders from intrusion of terrorists and opposite forces Raytheon and DARPA, the Pentagon’s research wing is all set for its new Project ISIS, a new radar system of a gigantic unmanned airship featuring superior surveillance potentials and better 360-degree threat detection, which possibly will replace the flat-panel radar antennas that usually are placed in an aircraft’s snout.

The airship will measure about 164 to 328 yards in length (ever largest airborne radar antenna) with the capacity to track everything from above 65,000 ft. over the combat zones and be controlled remotely from the ground.

Apart from other things the unmanned radar airship is expected use top-mounted solar cells and low-speed electric propellers to stay in the air for a longer duration (about one year) at such soaring height. There isn’t much information of the estimated cost of the project but the ISIS technology probably will debut in 2009.

Project ISIS certainly is a step forward in the air surveillance that is going to help the surveillance agencies in a huge way and definitely will revolutionize the defensive measures in future.

A team at the MIT Institute Cambridge has developed a completely silent Aircraft. The Aircraft named SAX-40 has a unique blended wing design that enables a completely silent operation.

The researchers have made the aircraft after three years of research and work.

The plane’s wings are blended into a wide tailless smooth body. The body is made as smooth as possible so that there is no turbulent airflow that causes noise. The plane has improved lift that means that it will make a slower approach for landing that will again reduce the noise.

The engines of the plane are embedded within the body of the plane with air intakes at the top. This also reduces the noise when the plane takes off.

All in all the plane features a variety of new technologies that will contribute in reducing the noise the plane makes while taking off or while landing.

Technologically improve your security system with a new technology that can spot perpetrators trying to infiltrate prohibited areas easily! The Sandia National Laboratories researchers have developed a more sophisticated sensor — a detection system - that can not only minimize the existing commercially available sensors’ cost, but also power consumption as well!

This new sensor system is completed with onboard GPS, compass, local and long haul radios.
It is also solidified with digital signal processor and video capabilities. But, disappointingly, it is significantly larger compared to the off-the-shelf sensors. It is also not currently available for mass production.

The video here shows the most deadly and largest guns ever used in a combat. The guns were designed by Krupp to be used in World War II. One of these guns was used by Hitler as the gun could pierce a meter of stell, seven meters of concrete, or thirty meters of dense earth. The gun had a huge structure and was too heavy so it took two rail railways to mount this gun. The gun was too heavy place on a rotating table so a curved track was used to aim a target and break it into pieces using an armor piercing shell three meters long, 7100 kg in weight the propellant casing alone measured 1.3 meters.

The British prime minister has announced the replacement of ageing Trident-armed submarines with nuclear missiles and deadly warheads. The country has a good sound naval command that maintains the security of the nation by continuous petrol under the world’s oceans.

The president has decided to cut the no of number of submarines from four to three and the number of “operationally available” warheads from 200 to 160. in a white paper presentation of to the parliament he suggested the cause behind the initiative of employing advanced nuclear warfare.

The decision was condemned by anti-nuclear campaigners and stated the step as a threat to peace while the prime minister termed it as a step that would restrict the nations from funding terrorists and safe guard the nation from uncertain conditions in future.

UK will remain the US’s nuclear junkie as in the government’s plan, the new missiles and the warheads will both depend on US technology and maintenance.
